LEAF, QASHQAI and Primastar win awards

Nissan’s excellence has shone through again, this time with three fleet awards.

At the 2011 Fleet World Honours, which recognise motor companies who have achieved the highest possible level of excellence in the sector, the Nissan LEAF received the Environmental Award and the QASHQAI was named the best SUV.

“Until the Nissan LEAF, electric cars have been a consideration for only the most particular role in a business,” Fleet World editor Steve Moody said. “Now though, the LEAF’s practical, four-seat configuration, clever use of iPhone integration and Sat Nav, as well as class-leading range, mean that more fleets will be able to use an EV.”

He added: “It’s great fun to drive, too."

The QASHQAI was recognised for maintaining a consistent level of excellence, year after year.

“It continues to defy all attempts to knock it off its No. 1 pedestal, selling in vast numbers, despite being in one of the most competitive sectors in the market. Last year, more efficient new models helped keep it there,” Moody said.

Finally, the British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards, which recognise car manufacturers who make their vehicles more secure from theft, named the Nissan Primastar SE the most secure vehicle in the heavy van category. This prestigious industry nod shows again how Nissan is not only committed to manufacturing innovative vehicles but also making sure they’re secure.
